We are glad to introduce a new “Connect & Export” feature in ReClipped that enables users to export as well as auto-sync ReClipped annotations with Readwise
Readwise is a great tool that allows you to collate together your highlights, annotations and notes from eBooks and the Web. With ReClipped’s integration with readwise.io your video-based annotations will also sync to your Readwise collation.
Here’s how you can make use of the this feature:
2. Click on Connect in Readwise (please note that this is only available to Basic Plan subscribers)
Microsoft OneDrive is a popular cloud backup and sharing product amongst corporate and educational institutions. Hence, ReClipped has enabled annotations on audio and video files from OneDrive. This works pretty much similar to the way links from DropBox, Google Drive and AWS S3 work in ReClipped.
ReClipped Basic subscribers can use the new sharing feature to export notes in markdown format. This format can be easily imported into other note taking applications such as Notion, Roam Research etc.
Here is a brief video on how to export ReClipped notes into markdown format and then import them into Notion.so
Users will now have the ability to assign different colors to snippets and these colors are reflected on the timeline below the video. This allows to quickly categorise snippets by color and aids in easily identifying them later in the video.
You can select from 5 different colors — Green, Red, Orange, Black and Yellow! (Please note FREE users are allowed to choose between Black and Red only)
There are 2 ways you can assign a color:
Method 1: From the Timeline (preferred method): Hovering over the snippet marker will show you the 5 colors to choose from. Just click the color you want to use! Voila! …
ReClipped has been absolutely FREE for close to 3 years!
Today, we have introduced a Basic Plan for a subscription fee of $1.99/month only. For a lot of our users, the FREE Plan will continue to serve their needs; however, we would highly encourage you to upgrade to Basic Plan, as it allows you to use all the features of ReClipped.
Here is a quick comparison of the two plans.

Starting today, ReClipped supports annotating files on Google Drive. Users can annotate their audio or video files (all major formats are supported) stored on Google Drive using the ReClipped website.
Below is the step-by-step guide on how annotate videos from Google Drive:
UPDATE (16/4/2020): Highlights are now available on ReClipped Chrome Plugin also
ReClipped’s journey started with Snippets which help users build an annotation with the key purpose of sharing; hence, creating Snippets required having answers to a lot of questions such as what is the exact start time?, what is the end time? what is the commentary about the section? which board the Snippet belongs to? Is it supposed to be private or public? and after answering all these questions, users would hit “Save” to create a cloud-backed annotation that is almost ready share. …
ReClipped continues, albeit slowly but steadily, to deliver features that our power users have asked for.
One long pending request has been the ability for Board members to turn off email notifications from Boards. Till now, any activity on the board — addition of a new annotation, comment on an existing annotation or deletion/update of annotation is notified to board members via Email.
While this helps everyone be aware of all the activity on the relevant boards, this can also become overwhelming and can lead to a lot of unnecessary mails to the members.
Therefore, we have introduced a preference called “Send Notifications on email” for each Board member. Using this preference, the members can choose to subscribe or unsubscribe to board notifications on email. Please note that this preference will be enabled by default. Below image is a quick illustration of how to find and change this preference. …
This post has been long overdue!
Many advanced users of ReClipped have complained that using mouse to switch between video and notes isn’t the most seamless experience — it breaks the trail of thought which leads to ineffective notes.
Below are some shortcuts that ReClipped has introduced to make this experience fluid. Good news is that now you can create, type, dictate and save timestamped notes without even touching the mouse!
